Getting started with the Dexcom G7-CGM sytem in 4 steps

We’re happy to help you get started with your new Dexcom G7 CGM system. The information below will guide you step by step in using your new Dexcom G7 sensor.

Once you’ve reviewed all the information in one step, you can move on to the next one. At the end, you can take the knowledge test to get a certificate.

The steps on this page will prepare you to get started with your new Dexcom G7 sensor, such as installing the app and creating a Dexcom account.

Compatibility

Dexcom CGM systems only work with the smartphones we tested extensively.
Please check that your smartphone or its operating system is compatible with the Dexcom apps.

App download

To get started with Dexcom G7, download the Dexcom G7 app from your phone’s App Store or PlayStore. Alternatively, you can get started with the Dexcom G7 receiver. Consult your healthcare professional if you would like to request it.

Dexcom G7 offers a suite of customizable alerts can help warn you of high or low glucose levels, including urgent low and urgent low soon alerts. See how you can easily customize your Dexcom G7 alerts to fit your diabetes management needs.

Share & Follow

Dexcom Share is a feature of the Dexcom G7 app that allows someone (the sharer) to send glucose information remotely to others (followers). You can invite up to 10 followers. The Dexcom Follow app* is a separate app and is part of Dexcom Share.

In the Dexcom G7 app, tap Connections > Share to set up Share. The app guides you through the process of inviting a new follower. The follower receives an email invitation containing the link to download the Dexcom Follow app and to accept the invitation.
You choose what to share: just the current glucose value, the trend graph or even your alerts.

*Separate Follow app and internet connection required. Users should always confirm readings on the Dexcom G7 app or receiver before making treatment decisions.

What is Dexcom Clarity?


The Dexcom CLARITY app shows you glucose patterns, trends and statistics. You can even get weekly notifications with the Dexcom CLARITY app. You can share this data with your healthcare provider to track changes remotely.†
Visit the Clarity website clarity.dexcom.eu or download the mobile app from the App Store or Google Play store for quick access on your smartphone. To log in, use the same username and password information as for the Dexcom G7 app.

† An internet connection is required for users to send their glucose data to Dexcom Clarity via a compatible smart device: dexcom.com/compatibility.

Dexcom Clarity

Easily share your glucose data with your healthcare provider via Dexcom Clarity. Are you using the Dexcom G7 app? If so, your glucose data is automatically uploaded to Dexcom Clarity.‡ View the pdfs below for an overview on how to pair with your healthcare provider.

Did you know that you can connect the Dexcom G7 directly to Apple Watch?§ This way you can see your glucose readings on your smartwatch, without having to have your phone nearby. Download the instructions for setting up Direct to Watch here!

§ Compatible smartphone required to connect a new Dexcom G7 sensor to a compatible Apple Watch. To use Share/Follow, the smartphone must be within 10 meters of the Dexcom G7.
